I have (24) of these units, they were used one season on 1200 acres (show very little wear) edges are still sharp.
They have a large center coulter that easily cuts thru the trash and residue, and a spider wheel on each side of the coulter that divides the residue evenly to both sides leaving a very nice clean swath for the planter unit to run through, achieving good seed to soil contact.
They are spring adjustable (no need for extra air lines), set them one and done.
The spiders are mounted on spring loaded arms that PULL them through the trash rather then pushing them through, works great in wetter conditions.
These units work great for planting right between existing corn rows.
These unit came off my JD 1770 planter but there are extra holes in the face plate to fit other planters.
