What the job is:
CPI is looking for someone who is positive, outgoing, upbeat and a natural leader.
The ideal candidate will be quick to connect with others and able to establish and maintain working relationships while building a positive rapport with the CPI Leadership Team, Board Members, Customers, Vendors and Employees at all levels.
The Vice President of Operations will be responsible for developing, implementing and communicating strategic plans for CPI’s operations, preparing and maintaining operations and millwright staffing plans, coordinating activities for operations and employees as well as conferring with the CEO regarding activities, operations and sales reports to determine changes in the programs or operations at CPI.
In addition, this person will be responsible for the operations inventory, collecting project bids and estimates, overseeing project processes from development to completion and assuring projects are met within a given budget.
This person will analyze and evaluate CPI’s Profit & Loss expenses, prepare weekly reports regarding operational activities for the CEO and Senior Leadership Team as well as share information with the CPI Board of Directors on a monthly basis to ensure everyone remains informed of CPI’s current operations and any factors influencing those operations.
They will serve as a leader, role model and mentor to managers involved in all functions of the CPI operations and build cross-functional teams to align resources for maximum efficiency.
The VP of Operations will be an active member of the CPI Senior Leadership Team providing input and support of all CPI departments and policies.
Strong interpersonal skills, the ability to effectively communicate both written and verbally and manage well at all levels of the organization is essential.
Solid problem-solving skills, a strategic mindset and creative skills along with the ability to exercise sound judgement and make decisions based on accurate and timely analysis is a must.
A high level of integrity ethics, morals and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and a results-oriented demeanor is a must.
A thorough understanding of financial statements, computer proficiency and a strong business acumen with time management skills, effective planning and organization and proficient decision-making abilities.
The ability and willingness to visit all CPI locations and project sites throughout the year.
Bachelor’s Degree in an Agricultural related field or seven or more years in progressively responsible leadership roles.
Prolonged sitting at a desk and working on a computer is essential in this role.
The ability to lift up to 15 pounds at a time is required.
This position is Onsite at our CPI Hastings Corporate Headquarters.
