The position is located at YRTC-Hastings in Nebraska.

You have the passion, we have the opportunities - let's make a difference for Nebraskans! Examples of Work The BHP supervisor oversees day to day operations of mental health services and programming at the YRTC Hastings location.
Duties include: Develops and directs implementation of operational plans pertinent to Mental Health to ensure the establishment of appropriate goals and the development of action steps to achieve those goals.
Determines and requests/submits staff, material, and equipment needs for the Mental Health department.
Develops performance evaluation standards and procedures for subordinate staff, counsels and confers with subordinate staff.
Trains YRTC employees in the principles, practices, policies, and/or procedures of mental health services/therapy.
Responsible for the weekly supervision of Provisionally Licensed Mental Health Practitioners and monthly supervision of Licensed Mental Health Practitioners.
Assesses psychosocial status and needs of youth served using information from psychological evaluations, social work assessments, individual history, and direct clinical observations to recommend treatment planning.
Counsels, treats and provides psychotherapy to individual and groups of female youth diagnosed with a behavioral, substance use and/or mental health needs.
Compiles progress notes, documents, assessments, treatment activities and other written documentation on assigned youth in a timely manner.
Coordinates interdisciplinary team meetings and/or serves as a member to ensure completeness of individual treatment plans or care plans or to update treatment plans.
Actively participates in multi-disciplinary treatment planning, being knowledgeable of effective interventions and strategies for the assigned population as well as individuals.
Acts as "on call" mental health staff, on rotating basis for coverage of weekend/evening/holiday Mental health needs of youth.
Must maintain current Nebraska licensure as a Mental Health Practitioner.
Qualifications/Requirements REQUIREMENTS: State of Nebraska licenses as Mental Health Practitioner and Alcohol and Drug Counselor.
Licensure requirements for all levels pursuant to Nebraska State Statutes 38-2122, 38-2124, and 38-316.
PREFERRED: Supervisory experience.
Possession of an LIMHP is preferred.
Experience working with youth involved in the juvenile justice system and/or experiencing behavioral health issues is preferred.
OTHER: Hours are M-F 8:00am-4:30pm, rotating on call.
Hiring rate Starting pay rate $33.
68/hr, increase to $35.
36/hour after successful completion of original probation period.
Additional $3/hour facility pay differential.

Skill in: active listening; effective communication; presenting information to groups and/or individuals; persuasion; social perceptiveness; conducting client assessments; treatment planning; client progress documentation.
