Responsibilities Duties and Responsibilities in Safety: Develop and execute health and safety plans in the workplace according to legal guidelines Prepare and enforce policies to establish a culture of health and safety Evaluate practices, procedures, and facilities to assess risk and adherence to the law Conduct training and presentations for health and safety matters and accident prevention Investigate accidents or incidents to discover causes, identify corrective actions, and handle worker's compensation claims Manage employee safety programs and incentives Provide support for employees and managers in safety and health practices Ensure company compliance with Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) guidelines to reduce work-related injuries Duties and Responsibilities in HR: Ensure legal compliance by monitoring and implementing applicable human resource federal and state requirements Ensure proactive employee communication plans on key changes to the business Manage the employee coaching process including effective performance management and performance improvement programs Advise team members and management personnel on the interpretation of personnel policies, programs, and procedures Serve as the primary contact for workers compensation related programs and improvements Communicate with production leaders for timekeeping purposes and employee attendance Responsible for compensation, employee relations and worker’s compensation.
Complete understanding of Title 9 / FMLA rules and regulations.
Create and facilitate communication and employee involvement initiatives.
Administer local salary review procedure and employment related policies and procedures.
Conduct training sessions related to Ethics, benefits, anti-harassment and discrimination, or others as required.
Ensure smooth processing of payroll and benefits issues at the site level, including supporting leave administration Oversee the employee benefit plans and payroll process Respond to employee inquiries regarding benefits or payroll questions.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications 2+ years of experience in Human Resources with a focus on Safety Team-oriented with the ability to maintain productivity, efficiency, and stay on task Capable of multitasking and working independently Desire and ability to learn new skills and assume new responsibilities Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate tactfully and diplomatically Strong organizational, leadership, and motivation skills Ability to prioritize tasks effectively Capable of maintaining a high level of confidentiality and professionalism Knowledgeable about OSHA standards in regards to general industry Comprehensive understanding of HR best practices, employee benefits, and state and federal employment laws Required Skills/Abilities Well-versed in Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
Outstanding organizational skills and attention to detail.
Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.
Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
